July/August Transfers 2009

{ Posted on 01:47 by Darren Denton }

The key players that I got are; Yevsikov, Zaki and Ljubojevic.

As you can see, Yevsikov can play anywhere along the back, but his main position is left back. He will start the majority of the games at left back because he is a lot better than Griffiths.

My second major transfer is Zaki, he will play most of his games on the right wing, but with good heading and bravery attributes make him a good backup target man.

My third and final major signing of the summer transfer window, is a fella who I got on another save, and it took me about three attempts to get a work permit for him. But he is worth it, with great heading. jumping and strength attributes make him possibly one of, if not the best target man in the league.

I have also decided to let Ryan Bennett, Exodus Geohaghan and Scott Griffiths return to their respective teams, because I feel they will get more first team experience before they rejoin in the winter.

The faces that I use in my game are the 50,000+ pack made by the fellas from HERE. none of it was made by me. I'm not trying to claim it. Please don't nag.

Contains 55,800 images of staff & players.
Search it's contents HERE

MEGAPACK - DIRECT DOWNLOAD
Download Torrent Or Alternative Torrent
+Full Torrent Instructions HERE
(Direct links will be posted here when available)
(NOTE: Due to this pack's size of 2.56GB it will be difficult to host a direct download, please be patient)

Download the Main Pack BEFORE the updates!
*Update 2.1 (23/11/09) Contains 2,215 images (104MB) Filefront / Mediafire
*Update 2.2 (20/12/09) Contains 2,776 images (135MB) Mediafire

Please download MEGAPACK V2, then update 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 etc in order. Once you have downloaded an update move the contents of the update into you megapack folder (accepting any overwrite messages you get)

PLEASE READ THE ENCLOSED INSTRUCTIONS FOR FULL DETAILS.

The idea behind this Megapack is that everyone downloads it and it gives us a base to work from, over time with each release we will replace older/poor-quality images with newer/better ones as well as filling in the blanks along the way.

We have moved this to it's own thread as there are many questions that arise from it and want to keep it all together so as not to clutter the other threads.

NOTE Re: Torrents, if you have never used it before follow these instructions:

You will need a program - download and install THIS (uTorrent)

Then, once installed on your PC, click on the Megapack Torrent link. Scroll down the page and click "Download torrent", your PC will then ask you what program you want to open the file/torrent with, browse your PC and find uTorrent and click OK.

It will then start downloading the pack into uTorrent and the pack will be in your documents in a folder called File Share Downloads.

It will probably take a while to download depending on how many people are sharing it at the moment, so leave it going perhaps overnight....

Any probs, give me a shout.

Preview of style:

Also why not download cachirro's "Small Faces Megapack" for the tiny preview images you get in game HERE

If the Megapack Zip file becomes corrupted during download try THIS to fix the problem

Again I AM NOT trying to claim this. Just sharing with my lovely readers.

Pre-Season 2009/10

{ Posted on 17:08 by Darren Denton }
It's pre-season. I don't like pre-season, I normally leave the friendlies to the assistant and I haven't changed. But I do now arrange the friendlies, the majority of them are against bigger teams just to get abit more extra cash.

Season Expectations

The first friendly was against the reserves.

Second versus Liverpool

Third versus Everton

Fourth versus Glenn Hoddle's Academy

Fifth against Lincoln

Sixth was against Stoke

The seventh and final friendly was against Newcastle

I also got a parent club and a feeder club. The parent club is Aston Villa, I chose Villa because of their youth setup so hopefully I can get some decent loanees. The feeder club is Kettering.

Team Analysis

{ Posted on 13:07 by Darren Denton }

Time for the analysis of my new team Peterborough. If anybody wants to know this is on the 10.2 patch. Anybody can recommend new signings in a comment.

This is what the assistant, Nicky Eaden, thinks the strongest possible line-up is:

So as you can see the positions that need improving the most are; LB, AMR and ST.

Goalkeepers

I'm sure alot of you have heard of Joe Lewis. He is a decent goalkeeper, I could certainly get better goalkeepers though. He will start 95% of my games unless I get a new GK. The current backup keeper is James McKeown. He's not good enough to be a good backup but because he is only 19 I will probably send him on loan, then sell him after a season or two.

Defenders

I think Griffiths is quite clearly not good enough for the championship so I will definitely be getting a new left back. He will be joining in January but I don't think he will stay very long.

Russell Martin is not the best RB in the league, but he certainly isn't the worst. I may try find a new right back, maybe just bring in somebody on loan.

Both centre backs are pretty decent for this league. Pearce is only on loan though and depending on how well he plays determines whether I will try to sign him permanantly in the future. The backups include Geohaghan and Bennett who are on loan from Kettering and Grimsby, unfortunately they will both be joining permanently in the January transfer window. I don't think they are good enough for this league but at 19, Bennett has age on his side, and one useful weapon that Geohaghan has is his long throws, they are 20 so when he plays we will obviously be using that. Craig Morgan is another backup, I think he is the better of the three backups.

Midfielders

I think that Tommy Rowe is one of the better players at the club, he has decent dribbling and a decent cross, but they will need to be improved.

I certainly think that Batt is one of the less talented players in the team but he is still young and I will probably send him out on loan while I bring in a better right winger.

I think that central midfield is the one area that needs just about no improvements I may need to bring in a backup, but I don't think I will. The current backups are George Boyd, Toumani Diagouraga, Dean Keates and Charlie Lee. Lee is more of a defensive midfielder and I am already trying to sell Keates. He is 31 and the oldest player at the club.

Strikers

Two very pacey strikers and I will certainly be using that to my advantage, but I do need one or two backup strikers. Batt can play upfront but I don't think he has enough quality. I may try get someone with less pace but very good in the air, so the other can play off of the target man.

Many hellos and welcome to my new Football Manager 2010 blog. I am thinking of starting a story with either Peterborough, Lincoln or Arsenal. Obviously choosing Arsenal it is less of a challenge but it is easier. Which is why i'm thinking more of the other two. Suggestions welcome for other teams welcome.
